David Lewis Pate, 75, of Walnut Hill passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at his home. He was born November 28, 1940 in Ashley, son of John McKee Pate and Martha (Daniels) Pate.
He is survived by nine children: John Pate of Walnut Hill, Danny Pate of Wamac, Jane Halley and husband Dale of Littleton, Colorado, Samuel Pate of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Timothy Pate and wife Julia of Dix, Rebeckah Pate of Centralia, James Pate and wife Carissa of Centralia, Matthew Pate of Walnut Hill, and Patricia Ryan of Dix; 13 grandchildren: Lauren Bierman, Nicholas Bierman, Aaron Bierman, Mathias Pate, Isaiah Pate, Jeremiah Pate, Brenae Pate, Brayden Pate, Sydney Pate, Stoney Meadows, Benjamin Ryan, Brittany Pate and Arieanne Pate; a sister, Brenda Quesenberry; two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son: Jeremiah Pate, a brother: Richard Pate, and a sister, Barbara McReynolds. David served in the U.S. Marines Corps. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and camping. He also played in a Dart League and volunteered as a Wrestling Coach for the Centralia Wrestling Club.
