David Lee Stokes, 57
Okeechobee – David Lee Stokes died on August 4, 2021. He was born June 23, 1964, in Houston, Texas to Delbert and Carol (Flint) Stokes. A lifelong resident of Okeechobee, Florida, he was with Okeechobee County School Board for over 30 years and spent over 20 years with OCRA baseball and Chobee’s Youth sports organizations. He enjoyed being on the water in his boat fishing and time at the gun range. David loved spending time with his family, and friends making people laugh and giving the best hugs ever.
He is preceded in death by, his father, Delbert Stokes; his mother, Carol who entered the gates of Heaven by his side; and grandparents Rudene and Clayton Flint and Vallie and Leon Stokes.
He is survived by his sons Dustin Lee Stokes, Chad Austin Stokes, both of Okeechobee, FL, brothers, Dwayne Stokes (Vicki), Gary Stokes, Sr., Darryl Stokes (Barbara) all also from Okeechobee, FL, and sister Karen Somerset (Matt) of New Smyrna Beach, FL.
