David Lee Jones was born to Howard Junior Jones and Louise Haley Jones on November 28, 1953, in Lawrence County, Alabama. He departed this life on March 6, 2015 at Decatur Morgan Hospital-Decatur General Campus.
He attended Tennessee Valley School in Hillsboro, AL and later went on to finish high school at Central High in Courtland, AL.
David served in the United States Air Force after graduating from high school. Upon leaving the Air Force and coming back to Alabama, he was employed by Champion Papers in Courtland, AL and also worked for the Alabama Highway Department until his health began to fail.
He received Jesus Christ as his Savior at a young age and was baptized under the ministry of the late Bishop A. C. Strong, where he attended The Pentecostal House of Prayer in Decatur. After some years he also attended other ministries; Our Father’s Business Outreach Center in Hillsboro, AL, Pastor Richard Mason and Foster Outreach with Pastor Sammy Foster in Courtland, AL. David also achieved Certificates of Diplomas at Bible School, before which he had accepted his call from God as Minister of the Gospel.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, two brothers, Robert Lee Jones and Bobby Jones, and one sister Rose.
David leaves to cherish his memory: one adored stepdaughter, Reshonda Tucker (Alfred); five sisters, Annie Stover (Willie), Brenda Pointer, Wanda Mason (Richard), Carolyn Mason and Marilyn Jones; one sister-in-law, Fhonda Jones; three step-sisters, Mable, Patricia, and Demetria; four step-brothers, Wayne, Jamie, Leroy and Puncho; five step-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
