David L. Stechschulte Sr.Our loving father, age 88, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017, surrounded by all of his children. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Wednesday January 3, 2018 at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Michael O’Brien officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Monday January 1 from 6pm to 8pm and on Tuesday January 2 from 2pm to 8pm with a rosary being prayed at 7pm.David was born August 3, 1929 in Owosso, the son of Rudolph and Marjorie (Attenberger) Stechschulte. David attended St. Paul Catholic School and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Throughout the years David served as President of the Michigan Petroleum Association (MPA/MACS), a member of the Knights of Columbus, Corunna Downtown Development Authority, Fort Myers Bay Side Yacht Club, and many other groups and associations.David spent his early years working on the family farm as a dairy farmer, he delivered mail, worked on the railroad until he started Stechschulte Gas & Oil in June of 1960, followed by the Town Tubs, and D & D Truck and Trailer Parts.David is survived by his children David (Lori) Stechschulte Jr., Diane (Jack) Ostipow, Monica (Mike) Constine, Richard (Robin) Stechschulte, Mark (Sue) Stechschulte, Ruth (Bob) Marks, Jim (Samantha) Stechschulte, and Robert (Kelly) Stechschulte; grandchildren Sarah Jo (Tom) Moore, Amanda (Josh) Atkinson, Meagan (Joe) Merlo, Karen Ostipow (Jamie), Steven (Jacki) Ostipow, Stacey Constine, Christine (Andy) Zarkovich, Nichole (Derrick) Brooks, Sami Jo (Jordan) Sovis, Craig Stechschulte, Aubrey Stechschulte, Ryan Stechschulte, Alex Stechschulte, Brooke Stechschulte, Zachary Marks, Alexa Stechschulte, Samuel Stechschulte and Riley Stechschulte; great-grandchildren Leah, David, Elijah, Claire, William, Nicholas, Gianna and Kylie; brother George Stechschulte; brother-in-law Bill Fedewa and many other loving family and friends.
