David L. Johnson, 77, of Anderson, passed away on September 16, 2020 at the St. Vincent’s Heart Center of Indiana. He was born on June 16, 1943 in Alexandria, Indiana. David graduated from Alexandria Monroe High School in 1961 and served his country in the National Guard for four years.
He retired from Delco Remy after 38 years as a Tool and Die Maker and Machine Repairman and was a member of the UAW #662. He also worked as a security guard for Guide Lamp and Ivy Tech where he also taught. He was a Past Master of Ovid Masonic Lodge #164, sat on the board at Independent Federal Credit Union, member of Fall Creek Conservation Club, lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.
He took many classes at the library and instilled educational values in his children. David is survived by his loving spouse, Janet Johnson; daughters, Debra (Kevin) Johnson Melton, Carol Ann Johnson; grand puppies, Lily and Otis, sister, Diana (Larry) Mauck; sister-in-law, Connie Johnson; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Lewis Johnson; mother, Darlene Johnson Gill; brother, Danny Johnson.
