David K. “Kochica” Maher of East Peoria, IL passed away at 5:07 pm on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at his residence. He was born on August 4 in Peoria, IL to Edward J. and Vhonda J. (Manges) Maher. He married Christine E. Sweeney.
Surviving are his wife Christine Maher of East Peoria; children Tina Maher of Pekin, Todd Railey and Kandace “K.C.” Foster both of Metamora, and Kanoa “Noa” Maher at home; grandchildren Austin McWilliams of Metamora and Kalee Smith of KY; one great-granddaughter Ava Rose Smith; brother Jeffrey Maher of Germantown Hills; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew.
Kochica was a network technician with Frontier Communications in Bloomington. He enjoyed celebrating Indian Heritage and traveling with family across the United States. He loved spoiling his wife Christine, his son and his grandson. His final wishes to those who knew him, “Remember the Good Times”.
