On Friday, March 11, 2022, David Aguilar transitioned from this life at 35, leaving the world a little dimmer without his light.

Born and raised in Miami, Fl, he used to joke that he only moved a few blocks away from the house he grew up in. David was a creature of habit. As a small child David loved what his family called his “missions” where he’d dress up in what is now termed “bug-out” gear and patrol the yard to make sure his family was safe. He was 7, they were safe. This is where his love of family took root, and he began what he was also known for: being very prepared.

The youngest child, and “Only Son” in a family of girls. His sisters would say he got away with murder, he would say with that shit-eating grin of his, he got away with “just enough”.

David was also known for his very epic bonfires. He really knew how to have fun and throw a party.

In 2007 David met and began a lifelong journey with his wife and soulmate, Wanda Sebastia. She shared his love of nature, camping, animals and was an avid animal adoption advocate. Their time together was brief, but their love rivals the greatest of fairy tales. Theirs was the relationship that people wanted to have, and when they married in 2018 everyone said “Finally”. It was one of the happiest days in David’s life. Another epic party by the way.

With Wanda and her family, he was once again surrounded by women and didn’t find that a hardship at all. He became the backbone and the man they could all count on. Their ongoing joke was that other men in the family would come and go, but he would outlast them all. David was a family man. He was always so kind and thoughtful.

David found a brotherhood in IBEW, local 349. He began a 5-year journey as an apprentice and became a Journeyman in 2014. He was a natural born leader and became a Superintendent in short order. He took pride in his job and work and was a bright spark to his IBEW brothers. Building a better world, one circuit at a time.

To know David is to know that he never met a stranger. He was a gentle soul that touched everyone that he met. His infectious smile and personality lit up any room he entered and instantly made you love him. Quick-witted, flirtatious, and a “stache” that could lift a skirt. He was handsome, free-spirited, ridiculously loyal and one-of a kind. David made you feel welcomed and like you were the most important and only person in the room. Family was important to him, and he went above and beyond for those he loved. David was such an old soul and a simple man. He said it best himself: “We are pure simple folk driven by basics.” Basics. What really matters in life. For him that was his dogs, motorcycles, brotherhood, family, and his cherished wife Wanda. Anyone who knew him would know that.

David had a passion and thirst for life that was rivaled only by his work ethic. He never did anything half-assed, No short cuts! If he had to though, he could “MacGyver” the heck out of anything. He always made it work. “Beat that MacGyver!”

Preceded in death by his sister, Holly Lynn Aguilar. He leaves, to celebrate his life and cherish his memory: Soulmate & Wifey, Wanda Sebastia, Parents: Pam & Jim Ferguson, Father: William Aguilar,

Sisters: Brandy & Brother In-Law Eric Capotosto & Mindy & Brother In-law Josiah Aguilar, Niece: Merridith Aguilar, Nephews: Logan & Chase Capotosto, Uncle, Cousins & The Sebastia Family.

His energy, passions, kindness, and love are all seeded in everyone he loved. We can not wait to see him continue to grow and live out in everyone he touched.
