David Jay Schoen, Jr. passed away peacefully at home on October 17th, 2019. Born May 11, 1937 to Marie Amelia Morris and David J. Schoen, Sr. who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Tom Jackson and sisters Rose Sabell, Marge Shoe, and MaryAnn From.
He is survived by his wife of 59 ½ years, Karen J. Schoen (Claxton) his son David Schoen, IV (Kathy) and his daughter Kari Schoen as well as his beautiful granddaughters, Kaylyn Schoen and Joslyn Schoen. He is also survived by nephew Jerry Snow (Candice), nieces Kathie Aspenwall, Cindy Keily (Jerry), Brenda Strong, and Michelle Sturgell (Fred) as well as many great-nieces and nephews.
Dave attended West High School where he ran track, played football, served as sports editor for the school newspaper as well as being part of the National Honor Society. He was awarded the Howard C. Wagner award for being the athlete with the highest scholastic standing.
