David J. Ruiz, 74, of Greenwood, formerly of Chicago, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018. He was born to the late John M. and Anita Ruiz in Chicago in May 11, 1943.
After graduating high school, David enlisted into the United States Army, he enlisted in June of 1964 and was discharged in 1966 after serving in the Vietnam War. In his down time, David loved to read. Also, he loved to listen to all genres of music. He was a big trivia buff.
David is survived by his wife of 23 years, Leota Scherer-Ruiz of Greenwood; four children; three stepchildren; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded by his two brothers, John Ruiz and Father Joseph Ruiz both of Chicago;
