David J. Moody, 36 , of Forked River, NJ passed away on Sunday April 5, 2015 at home. He was born in Neptune, NJ he lived in Jackson, NJ before moving to Forked River 5 years ago. He proudly served his country in the National Guard.
He received his Associate Degree from Ocean County College, then went on to get his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Thomas Edison College, received his Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from Capella University and was in the process of finishing his PHD at Capella University as well. David was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Lakewood, NJ.
He worked for the New Jersey State Department of Corrections, then Ocean County Corrections then became a Berkeley Township Police Officer and active member of the Berkeley Township Scuba Team. He was a Volunteer Fire Fighter for Toms River and Bayville, a volunteer and paid EMT for Lakewood Woodbridge and MONOC. David was an Eagle Scout in Jackson, NJ.
He was an amazing father who loved his children with all his heart and will be missed by all who knew him. Predeceased by his grandparents Fred and Ruth Wittenberg. Surviving is his wife Eleanor (Wilson), two daughters Sophie Anne and Lorelai Ruth, his parents Michael and Gaye (Wittenberg) Moody of Manchester, NJ, his Mother in Law Linda Wilson and also many other loving family members.
