David J. Lapos, 49, of Pottstown, entered eternal life on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, after a long battle with multiple myeloma, in the Hospice Unit of Phoenixville Hospital, Phoenixville, Chester County. Born in Coaldale and raised in White Bear, he was the beloved son of Judy (Vrablic) Lapos of Bethlehem and the late James Lapos. He graduated from Panther Valley High School in 1980 and attended West Chester University graduating in 1984 with a degree in Social Studies. He later received his Masters Degree in Education from Kutztown University. A dedicated teacher, reading specialist, counselor and friend, David, taught for 16 years at St. Gabriels Hall in Oaks, Montgomery County. He was an avid Phillies fan and a talented banjo player and enjoyed jam sessions with friends when time allowed. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends at Mauch Chunk Lake in Jim Thorpe PA. He was an active member of Branch Creek Community Church, Harleysville, PA. Survivors: In addition to his beloved mother, Judy; David is survived by a sister, Karen M Bawduniak and her husband Michael and his adoring nephews, Zach and Nathan of New Hope; brother, Matthew S. Lapos of Bethlehem and Davids special friend, Theresa Soda of New Jersey.
