BOXFORD – David James Broderick, 73, passed away suddenly at home in the company of his life partner of many years on Saturday, November 27, 2021. Dave had been struggling with heart disease for several years. Born in Boston, MA on October 9, 1948 and longtime resident of Boxford, MA. He is predeceased by parents mother Margaret (Foley) Broderick, father James W. Broderick, father and step-mother Patricia (Galvin) Broderick. Surviving family members include hi life partner of many years  Allie Hayes of Boxford, MA; brothers Daniel J. Broderick and wife Karen (Nohmer) of Newmarket, NH, Dennis Broderick and wife Debra (Burke) of Medway, MA; step-siblings: Michael Galvin of Holliston, MA, James Galvin and wife Stacey of Franklin, MA, Julie Galvin Colontoni and husband John of Medway, MA and Maureen Galvin of Sandwich, MA; nephews and nieces Sean and Kerry Broderick, Marki Williams, Jessica and Michael Galvin, John and Nicholas Colontoni and James, Elizabeth, and Matthew Galvin; and a large extended family of cousins of whom he was very fond. Dave graduated from Lexington, MA high school in 1966 and received his BA in Sociology from Boston University and a BA in music from Berklee College of Music. He was a lifetime musician, a bass player. His career started with a homemade washtub bass he played in a Coffee House “The Barn” that he created in high school in the carriage house behind his parent’s home in Lexington.  This coffee house was featured in a 1965 NBC documentary “The World of the Teenager” set in Lexington, MA (Dave is in Part III). He went on to tour and play with Tom Rush, Roy Buchanan, Chuck Berry and local rock, country, and blues bands too numerous to name.
