David Hewson, 64 of Beachwood, NJ went to be with our Lord on January 27, 2019 after a hard fought battle with illness. He was born in Paterson, NJ, raised in North Haledon, NJ, and lived in both Lyndhurst, NJ and Toms River, NJ before moving to Beachwood 27 years ago.
David worked for LJ Kennedy Trucking Company in Kearny, NJ for 25 years and was an Auto Body Specialist for First Student Bus Company in Lakewood, NJ. His friends and coworkers knew him as “Brush” for his exceptional talent in painting and restoring cars and trucks. David was an avid fan of rock & roll music, the NY Jets, and working on his ’71 Cuda. Above all else, David was happiest providing for his family, being a good husband and father, and sharing in the accomplishments of his children, who brought him his greatest pride and joy.
Predeceased by his sisters Sandra Kascia and Pamela Hewson, David is survived by his parents Martin and Evelyn (Wagner) of Florida, his loving wife of 31 years Diane (Granat), sons David J. Hewson of Beachwood, NJ, and Robert Z. Hewson of Beachwood, NJ, daughter Michelle L. Hewson of Beachwood, NJ, brother in law Edward Granat, and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
