David George Sparks, 83, of Killingworth, passed away on Sunday, February 15th at his home. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Charles Franklin and Emily Love (Vogel) Sparks. David grew up in Baltimore, MD and moved to Middletown where he raised his family. He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII where he was honored with a Purple Heart. He went on to receive a graduate degree from Northwestern University in Illinois. He was an editor for several publishing companies, a grantswriter for the City of Middletown and the Community Health Center.
