Anaconda native David George Hess passed away unexpectedly at his home in Greeley, Colorado on March 31, 2014. Dave, known to his classmates as “Ralf,” was born on February 15, 1950, to George and Mary (Beausoleil) Hess. Raised at the family home on West Park, David attended Saint Joseph Elementary School and Anaconda Central High School where he graduated with the class of 1968.
Dave attended Montana State University before enlisting in the United States Air Force in July of 1969. Dave proudly served his Country for 26 years before retiring at the rank of SMSgt and starting a new career with Lockheed Martin in Boulder Colorado as a hardware engineer. Dave’s military career in radar system repair and satellite communication brought him tours of duty in Texas, Mississippi, Alaska, Montana, California, Colorado and Europe. Dave’s dedicated service and his natural leadership abilities earned him the respect of his superiors and co-workers and he was formally recognized for these qualities on many occasions.
Dave enjoyed a number of activities and shared his interests with his family and the many friends he made everywhere he went. Dave was a kind and generous leader who gave unselfishly of himself to everyone, especially to his family.
