David E. Miller, 80, of Lafayette died Saturday, July 2, 2016 at home. He had resided in Crestone, CO for the past 7 years. He was born December 23, 1935, in Delphi to the late Arthur and Margaret Boone Miller. David served in the United States Marine Corps from August 10, 1953 to August 9, 1957. His first marriage was to Mary Hoskins and they divorced. He then married Loretta Siler in 1969 and she preceded him in death in 1982. He later married Deanna Hankinson in 1992 and she preceded him in death in 2004. David was a truck driver, working for Commercial Freight and Consolidated Freight retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Teamster Union Local #135, American Legion Post #11, and VFW #1154. He enjoyed hunting, the mountains and repairing cars. Surviving are his children David L. Miller (Linda) of Monticello, Rocky E. Miller (companion Jackie), Mindi J. Balser (Terry) all of Crestone, CO, stepchildren Jacki Stewart (companion Horacio), Kenny Reuzenaar (Pamela) all of Lafayette, Angie Henning (Jim) of Huntsville, NC, Lesa Bilskie (Companion Dawn of Marshall, IN. Also surviving are his grandchildren Kalynn Miller (Husband Justin), Cory Miller, Ian Brooks-Miller (companion Haley), Janelle Miller, Sara Talbott (husband Corey), Nikia Upchurch (husband Sean), step grandchildren Heather High, Lindsay Timko, Vanessa Crabtree, Alisha McCaw, Kyna Weaver, Benji and Jimmy Roop, Ruchelle Clouse, Tiffany Johnson, Brian Marrs, great grandchildren Liam Upchurch, Chloe and Kendall Miller, Skyler Brooks-Miller, Khloie Ray, step great granddaughter Abbigayle Talbott. David was preceded in death by sister Jean Sutherlin, Iva Glacobazzi, Dorothy, and brother James MIller. He was loved and will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
