David “Dave” Dehlinger, 76, of Western Grove, Arkansas passed away peacefully Friday, February 25th, 2022, from an aggressive form of prostate Cancer. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle. Dave was born September 6th, 1945, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin to Raymond and Grace (Mooney) Dehlinger.

Dave was always athletic starting with Little League, Legion baseball, Pacelli High School football and track and field where he held the discus record for many years. After graduating from Pacelli High in 1963, he attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where he again excelled in football and track and field, lettering each year. Dave played semi-pro football after graduating with a BS degree in Economics.

Dave and Linda Schroeder were married in January 1967. They had one son, Patrick. They headed west in 1969 and settled in San Diego, California. They later divorced. The California move was the launch into his career in the insurance industry which spanned over 50 years. During his career, Dave served as the President of the San Fernando Valley Adjusters Association. He serviced insurance claims for many high-profile clients such as Sylvester Stallone, John Candy, Yvonne DeCarlo, Shelley Fabares, Linda Hopkins and William Sackheim. In March 1982, Dave partnered with Linda Hawkins, in the formation of Assured Content Restoration. David and Linda married in May 1984.  In 1992 Dave and Linda sold their successful business and escaped the Southern California hustle to relocate to rural Western Grove, Arkansas. From here, Dave launched a second career distinguishing himself as a disaster claims specialist along the East Coast and throughout the South.

Leisure time allowed Dave and Linda to tour Ireland, Italy and Australia. They enjoyed many cruises, the last being in December of 2021.  Dave was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His motto was: Sit Long, Talk Much, Laugh Often. When all gathered, there were specialty beers, good cigars, and rousing games of cards and dice. He was an animal-lover, with multiple dogs, cats, and horses as part of the family throughout the years. David’s sense of humor and love for his family will be greatly missed.

He is survived by wife (Linda), son (Patrick), two grandchildren (Kevin and Rachael), brothers Bruce (Cilla), Tom, and sister Annie (Joe) Zouski, nieces Raquel, Jennifer and Emma. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Christine and nephew Jeff Zouski.
