David D. Bearden, 58, Anderson, passed away March 14, 2007 at Community Hospital, Anderson after an extended illness.
He was born January 24, 1949 in Lafayette, Indiana, and resided in Anderson most of his life. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. He served his country in the US Navy overseas in the Vietnam War. Dave was a member of the Church of the Nazarene since he was in kindergarten.
Those who knew him, considered him to be an expert in the development and maintenance of small group ministries. He was an avid Colts fan and loved basketball.
He is survived by his wife whom he married October 9, 1971: Deborah Westhafer Bearden. Parents: Buel D. & Marjorie Cooper Bearden of Anderson. Son: Jeremy Bearden of Anderson. Daughter: Noel & husband Eric Whetsel of Anderson. Brother: Stephen & wife Susan Bearden of Salem, Oregon. Nieces: Heather & husband Brandon Kahler of Oregon and April Bearden of Oregon.
He is also survived by a host of lifelong special friends and family. The family would like to thank Anderson First Church of the Nazarene staff and church family for their kindness during his illness. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Marion & Ruby Cooper. Pateral Grandparent: Dicy Bearden. Several special aunts and uncles.
