David “Country” Peterson, 66, of Wataga, died at 4:15 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2019, at home. David was born April 29, 1952, in Galesburg.
He married Laurie Beth Snyder on December 31, 2018, at their home in Wataga.
Country is survived by his wife, Laurie; one son, Travis Peterson of Galesburg; one daughter, Tara Baumgardner of Castle Rock, CO; and his two grandchildren, Stella and Declan. Country is also survived by one brother, John Peterson of Oskaloosa, IA; and two sisters, Laurie Peterson of North Carolina and Terri Carley of Tennessee. Country owned and operated Country’s Bar in Wataga for many years. He also worked as a conductor on the railroad for many years.
