David Cornell Kane, 69, of Jacksonville, IL, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, at White Hall Nursing & Rehab.
He was born July 17, 1952, in Jacksonville, the son of Cornell J. and Laura F. Hargrove Kane. He married Sandra Johnston on Apr. 19, 1975, in Ohio, and they later divorced.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Cornell J. and Mari Pires Kane of Jacksonville; one son, James Cornell (Megan) Kane of Neenah, WI; one daughter, Laura (Colin) Gruenwald of Hoffman Estates; six grandchildren; and two sisters and one brother, Phyllis (Mike) Rowley of Kingman, KS, Linda Cornett of Ogden, UT, and Larry Kane of Pleasant Plains. He was preceded in death by his mother, Laura F. Gray.
Mr. Kane was a 1970 graduate of Jacksonville High School. He then graduated in 1974 with a BA in Human Relations from Judson College in Elgin. He worked in the field of Human Relations for 25 years. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan.
