David Charles Albanese, 67, of Middletown, husband of Melody (Ring) Albanese, died peacefully at his home with family by his side on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 after battling an extended illness.
Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late Charles and Lorraine (Carlson) Albanese.
David worked as a carpenter his whole life working primarily with G. Fox & Co. and lastly at Wesleyan University. His love of carpentry transcended work as he designed and built the house where the family still resides.
He loved being outside, working in his vegetable garden and especially on his boat either on the Connecticut River or Long Island Sound where he felt at peace. He enjoyed skiing, fishing, and being at the beach with his family.
Besides his loving wife of 46 years, he is survived by his two daughters, Stephanie Dawn Albanese of Boston, and Danielle (Albanese) Ferreira and her husband, Ricky of West Harford; a sister, Dawn L. Albanese of Middletown; two grandchildren, Jack David and Layla Juliette Ferreira and several nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his niece Michelle Ring.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Zach and the rest of the Middlesex Home Hospice family, and to James at Companions and Homemakers, both whom were instrumental in helping to take care of David through his long illness.
