David Cantrell passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer.
David was born on July 8, 1943 in Wendell, Idaho to Homer and Ivy Cantrell and was raised on the family farm west of Wendell. He graduated from Wendell High School in 1961. Later that year, David met Alice Fenstermaker while traveling to work and they were married on March 25, 1962. He worked as a mechanic and helped on the family farm until 1970 when he began a 38 year career as a Christian literature salesman. During his career, he worked in Idaho, Washington, Illinois, Colorado and Arizona, ultimately settling back in the Treasure Valley. He retired in 2009, but continued his favorite hobby restoring damaged cars until his death.
David is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Alice; sons, David (Marletta) of Spokane, WA, Ken (Lorinda) of Greenleaf; daughters, Jeannie (Larry) Goodhew of Walla Walla, WA, and Suzanne Hafar of Denver Colorado; grandchildren, Matthew, Cassandra, Alicia, Serena, Rusty, and Jessie; 2 brothers, Russell of Twin Falls, and Jonathon of King Hill.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Louann Tuesta.
