David C. Riek David C. Riek, 44 of Ridgefield died suddenly on Sunday, September 9, 2012 in Ridgefield, CT. Mr. Riek was born in Chicopee, MA, September 22, 1967. He attended Hicksville, Long Island schools and received his Bachelor’s degree from SUNY-Binghamton. He entered the reinsurance industry first as an associate actuary and then as an underwriter. Most recently he was a senior vice-president of Transatlantic Reinsurance Company anticipating a move to Sinapore. Prior to that he was associated with Ace Tempest Reinsurance of Stamford. A resident of Ridgefield for the past eight years he was an avid exerciser and participated in numerous triathlons He enjoyed golf, music and most especially his family and attending the sporting events of his three children. He is survived by his wife of fourteen years Naomi (Collinge), his children Benjamin, Natasha, and Charley as well as his parents Justus and Mary Ellen Riek of Northport, New York, and his sister Jennifer also of Northport. He was a beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews, a loving cousin, nephew, and brother-in-law to his extended family. He was a dear and loyal friend to a unique group of people with whom he shared so many precious moments. His wonderful way with others endeared him to all he met. He made the world a warmer, kinder place. He was simply a really great guy.
