David C. Germadnik of Greensburg, formerly of Sharpsville, passed away unexpectedly at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022, at Excela Health Westmorland Hospital. He was 84. Mr. Germadnik was born Oct. 7, 1938, in Broughton, a son of Albert A. Germadnik and Mary C. “Mitzie” Troyar. He worked at Rome Metals as the safety director until retirement. David was known to enjoy a fine cigar and American history. He was an avid auto race fan, a loyal Cleveland Browns fan and held season tickets for WVU Mountaineers football team for 30-plus years. In his early years, he spent many summers with his wife and children at Shenango dam camping and enjoying boating, waterskiing, fishing and swimming. He also enjoyed many seasons at the family cabin in the Alleghany National forest, hunting, smoking sausage and sharing stories around the fire. David was a member of Greensburg Lodge No. 225, F. & A. M., Valley of Pittsburgh, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite; and Syria Shriners, Pittsburgh. He was a past refreshment chairman of the 30th Masonic District and was very proud to wear that name tag. David is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Jo Ann (Wiltrout) Germadnik. Also surviving are two daughters, Sandra Rose (Randy Rose), and Mary Lynn “Peggy Sue” Aschwanden; grandson, Travis Rose and wife, Laura Rose; and great-grandson, Tucker Rose. He was proceeded in death by his only brother, Bob “Gee” Germadnik. David loved a good conversation, corny jokes, and had numerous good friends. He is loved and missed by many.
