Butch was born on February 27, 1947 to parents John and Eldora Harmon in Salem, OR. He was raised in Boy River, MN and is where he would later marry his beloved wife Marla of 44 years in 1971 at the Boy River Log Chapel. In 1968, Butch joined the United States Army Reserves where he proudly served his nation until 1972.

After his service with the Army Reserves, Butch worked in Carpentry, Logging, and as for the last 13 years of his life, driving Semi transporting grain for Columbia Grain here in Montana. Butch had a love for old cars and pickups and spent countless hours searching to find the special few he would enjoy restoring. He also enjoyed hunting for antiques. Above all his interests and hobbies, Butch was a family man who was a devoted husband, and loving father to his children. He also had a very special relationship with his grandchildren whom he loved and cared for. Butch will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Butch is survived in death by his wife Marla; father, John “Rex” Harmon; sons, Brad, John, and Tom Harmon; sister, Darlene (Jim) Iverson, and 3 grandchildren; Lilly, Alicia, and Johnny.

He is preceded in death by his mother Eldora Harmon.
