On Tuesday, January 19, 2021, David Brian Edwards, Sr, loving husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away at age 64.
David was born on August 8, 1956, in Dayton, OH to William Wayne Edwards, Sr, and Jean Anita Edwards.
He became a father on January 20, 1977, and on 12/31/1998, he married the love of his life.
David is survived by his wife Barbara Edge Edwards, his son David Brian Edwards, Jr., and his brother Bill Edwards and his sister Nancy Edwards Patterson.
Leading with love and light, David approached the world with compassion and creativity. Whether he was building homes for the less fortunate with Habitat for Humanity or constructing a shed in your backyard, he poured everything into making things for people.
He never met a stranger, and even if he had just met you, he was always ready to share a story. After beating leukemia the first time, he took a job with Meals on Wheels so that he could provide food and comfort for the sick and dying. Not only did he make friends with almost everyone on his routes, he always had a pocket full of treats for the dogs he would meet – quickly becoming friends with them, too.
One of his favorite ways to show his love for someone was to draw cartoon pictures for them: bears, dogs, lions, and most famous were the mice, whose tails were often locked together in the shape of a heart.
All of existence is now a little darker without his light; although he is now reunited with his parents, his brother Michael, Michael’s wife Sharon, and countless animals he loved.
If he were to give us one last piece of advice, it would be for all of us to “Live Life”.
