Mr. David Allen Shine, Jr., age 63, of Sanford, NC, transitioned into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, NC.
DAVID A. SHINE JR. aka ROOSEVELT MITCHELL
David “Sug” was a native of Youngstown Ohio, was born May 22, 1959 and departed this life on March 14, 2023. He worked at Star Extruded Shapes for 12 years, and later relocated to Sanford, North Carolina where he worked for Coty Manufacturer for 3 years.
He married his childhood sweetheart, Earlina D. Gilford Shine in 2019. David A. Shine Jr. “Sug” Was a Loving Husband and Father who he and his wife reared his 13-year-old son, Brandon Shine. He was a very humble caring man with a good heart, he loved watching old-school movies, listening to his old-school music, and collecting old-school cars as a hobby. He loved his peace, his wife and children were his world.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David A. Shine Sr., Betty Jean Howell, Roosevelt, and Phalaenopsis Mitchell; a sister, Yolanda “Missy” Shine; two brothers, Keith Washington, and Larry Washington; his first Daughter; and grandmother, Margaret Howell.
He leaves to cherish his memories wife, Earlina Gilford Shine; a son he reared Brandon Shine of Sanford, NC; sons, Jamal Perry and David Shine both of Youngstown, OH; daughters, Tlicia Shine, and Kaiyla Barlow, both of Youngstown, OH, DaShawna Shine of Columbus, OH, and Trypheena A. Brown of South Carolina; his brothers, Dennis Thornton of Washington, DC, David (Leon) Shine of Atlanta, GA, Tyrone Chatman, Derrick Shine of Youngstown, OH, Tony Copeland of Florida, and Larry Copeland; his sisters Lowe McQueen who raised him of Columbus, OH, Rochelle (Dutchies) Copeland, Nicole Shine of Youngstown, OH, and Margaret Anne Howell of Memphis, TN; special uncle, Floyd Teague (Poochie); two special aunts, Shirley Bratton- Howell, and Bernice Mitchum; his stepchildren, Theresa C. Gilford, Jermaine Ellis of North Carolina, and Floyd I Ellis Jr. of Youngstown, OH; grandchildren that he loved so dearly and a host of nieces, nephews, co-workers, and friends.
