The son of Fred W. Carroll and Thelma Lucille (Strother) Rutledge, David was born on April 13, 1945 in Ardmore, Oklahoma and passed away on August 5, 2019 in the local hospital.
A lifelong Ardmore resident, David attended the Ardmore Schools while growing up. He and Shirley Wood were married July 20, 1991 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He enjoyed fishing and watching western movies with Clint Eastwood and or John Wayne. David had worked at the Lake Murray Lodge as a cook.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; brothers, Donald and Herman Carroll; a son, Timmy Carroll and a sister. David was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Charles Carroll.
