David Albert Lauro Age 77 of Owosso passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Sparrow Health Systems-Sparrow Campus to be with the Lord.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 am Saturday, July 28, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Michael O’Brien officiating. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 pm.David was the son of the late Joseph E. and Mary (Seda) Lauro born in Owosso, MI on July 27, 1940.He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.David loved the land and worked his entire life as a farmer. He assisted in forming the Maple River Area Historical Society Inc., and restoring the Community of Christ Church.He was well known for his kind heart and willingness to help anyone. David enjoyed airplanes, collecting antiques, gambling and was a member of the Mid-Michigan Old Gas Tractor Association.David married Kay Lorraine Peters in Corunna on May 18, 1990 and she preceded him in death on October 16, 2017.David is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Lauro and Jennifer Lauro; son, David R. (Laurie) Lauro; step children, Kristin Davis, Brenda (Joe) Anderson, and Kelly (Holly) Peters; 8 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brothers, Joseph (Sherry) Lauro, Gerald Lauro and Clement Lauro; sisters, Mary Lewis and Christine Yant.Memorial contributions are suggested to the family for funeral expenses.
