David Alan Hansen, 84, of Clarksburg passed away February 17, 2017 at the Louis A. Johnson Veteran’s Center.
He was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 1, 1932, the child of the late Ole and Josephine Iversen Hansen. David was married to the late Peggy Lou Sawyer Hansen. He was a Longshoreman carpenter with Moore – McCormack Lines in New York City, NY and worked there until he was disabled in 1979.
David was survived by a good friend, Russell Clark; a cousin, Harold Gunderson and several other cousins that he has lost contact with over the years.
David attended the First Church of the Nazarene. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 573, the Clarksburg American Legion Post 13, the Combat Infantrymen’s Association and the International Longshoremen’s Association.
