David Alan Cornett, 64, of Colonial Heights passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Born December 28, 1959, he was the son of the late James Stanley and Virginia Hope Cornett, and was also preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Cornett; and sister, Carol Gordon.
David enjoyed attending Word Spirit and Life Ministries, where he found peace in his faith.
His love of gardening was a source of pride for David. He spent countless hours tending to his plants, finding satisfaction in watching them flourish.
One of David’s greatest passions was fishing, especially at Nags Head. His love extended beyond his garden and fishing trips to his loyal canine companions. He adored his dogs, who brought him unconditional love and companionship. They were his faithful friends, always by his side, sharing in his daily routines and adventures.
David is survived by his wife, Penny Cornett; daughters, Ginny and Sandra Crocker, Kristin Vinson (Adam); grandsons, Oliver and Arthur Vinson; beloved dogs, PD and Harley; and numerous extended family members.
