David Barrett Adams, son of Dorothy F. Adams and the late Charles E. Adams Jr, was born in Rangely, CO on February 19, 1949 and died on August 12, 2019.
David attended Rangely schools where he excelled in athletics. After earning his Automotive Technician degree at Western Technical College and working for several years as an automotive mechanic in Denver, he moved to Midland, Texas to attend The University of Texas Permian Basin (UTPB). David graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Earth Science in 1978. He practiced as an Exploration Geologist for Champlin and Forrest Oil companies. While working as a Geology Librarian at the Midland Energy Library he returned to UTPB and completed the required coursework towards a Master’s degree.
In his youth, David was happiest riding horses, hunting and fishing in the Flat Tops Wilderness. After the cabin was destroyed by Lost Solar Creek, David worked very hard and, with the help of family and friends, built a new cabin that will continue to be enjoyed by generations to come.
David is survived by his mother, Dorothy, sisters Mary C. Adams and Patricia M. Adams, nieces CiCi Haines, Teresa Bushway, Rebecca Flesch and Loretta Adams Licklider, and grandnieces Maria Molina, Ily Rubio and Charlie Flesch, Uncle Donald Moore (Helen), Aunt Nettie Moore and numerous cousins.
