Dave Minnich, age 80, of Clarksburg, passed away early Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown following a brief illness. He was born October 22, 1935 in Fairmont, WV, a son of the late David Ross Minnich and the late Zella (Saunders) Minnich.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Louise Maset Minnich whom he married January 13, 1962; one daughter, Lori Minnich Plum and her husband Ken of Morgantown; his grandson, Max Plum also of Morgantown; and one sister, Stella Wright of Fairmont. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Commodore and Ella Marie Cook. Dave was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for 28 years for the former Pallace Furniture Company until its closing, and then finally retired from the Harrison County Board of Education. He was a long time member of the Duff St. United Methodist Church in Clarksburg, having served as a past Trustee and member of the Administrative Board, among various other capacities there. He enjoyed reading, music, and followed all types of sports but particularly enjoyed the WVU Mountaineers and Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Most of all, he dearly cherished his grandson, Max. Max was his whole world, and he spent as much time with him as he could.
