David Arthur Irving, the 10th child of Walter and Lois (Askren) Irving, was born December 25, 1939 in Marion County, Iowa. He passed away May 9, 2012 at the Circle of Life Legacy Lodge in Chariton, Iowa at the age of 72.
Dave attended school in Marion County and graduated with the class of 1958 from Chariton High School.
Dave was a bus driver for Chariton Schools in his younger years and for the Hy-Vee warehouse for over 29 years until his retirement. Dave loved roller skating, dancing, country music, dogs, especially his coonhounds, gardening and teasing his grand-kids. No one was a stranger to him, He loved to talk and tell his stories. He was a very giving man to those in need.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bill, Bart, Jim and Dick and his granddaughter Katie Leanne. He is survived by his children, Angi Garton and husband Craig of Chariton, Linda Tabor and husband Walt of Colorado Springs, CO and son Dave of Russell. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Dawnyle Irving, Lindsey (Jestin) Larrington, Nick Garton, Cole VerSteegh, Mallorie Irving, Monica Irving and Cherokee Irving and great granddaughters Maddix and Paisley Larrington.
Also Brothers Carl and wife Audrey and Sam and wife Donna, sisters Veda Peterson, Violet Greenslade, Della Storm and husband Floyd, Janie Fitzgerald and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and his friends,
He will be missed.
