Mr. Darren Watkins was born January 18, 1969 in Indianapolis,In. He was the youngest of three sons born to Horce Watkins Jr. and the late Irene Brazelton Watkins.
Darren confessed his hope in Christ at an early age and joined Emmanuel C.M.E.
Darren attended the Washington Township school system, Graduated from George Washington High School on the west side, after which he then attended Vincennes University in Vincennes, Indiana. Darren worked at Methodist Hospital in Health Information for twenty five years. Later he was employed by St. Franciscan Health until his health declined in 2017.
He was well groomed and loved to dressed and smell good. He also loved to dance and listen to all type of music.
Darren and his only sister (Cookie) being the two youngest of the family shared an unbreakable bond that many wish they had. As siblings they had their share of rivalry, as any other families. However, the unconditional love they shared never wavered. He will truly be missed by all who loved and knew him.
He transitioned on July 15, 2021 at the age of 52 and was preceded in death by his mother Irene Brazelton Watkins, Grandparents Rev. Willie Ed and Amie Brazelton, Aunt Evelyn Brazelton, and Uncle John Ed Brazelton both who helped raised him. Aunts Esther Rigney, Mary Watkins, and Jessie Brazelton. Uncles, James Brazelton, William T. Brazelton, and Robert Brazelton.
Darren is survived by: Father Horace Watkins, Jr., sister Natasha Watkins (Cookie) brothers Anthony Watkins, Francis (Christina) Watkins of Indianapolis Indiana. Niece Sade Watkins of Louisville Kentucky. Aunts Doris, Elizabeth, and Peggy Brazelton of Huntsville Alabama. Juanita Brazelton of Gurley Alabama, Carrie Brazelton of Indianapolis Indiana, and a hosts of many cousins, relatives, family and friends.
