Darrell Wertz, 88, of Kellogg, died on Friday, June 16, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Darrell Wertz, the son of Leslie and Muriel (Sparks) Wertz, was born on October 11, 1928 in rural Kellogg. He grew up and graduated from Kellogg High School in 1948.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Deborah (Keith) Osborn; grandson, Travis Tysor; brother, Wayne Wertz; a sister, Marlene Wertz in infancy; and a brother-in-law, Arnold Buckley.
Those left to honor Darrell’s memory are his wife, Nellie of Kellogg; children, Doug (Jackie) Wertz of Riverton, Julie (Greg) Stokke of Ankeny, and Steve (Kellie) Wertz of Kellogg; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sister, June Buckley of Des Moines; and a sister-in-law, Bev Wertz of Newton.
