Darrell grew up in Shiprock. He aspired to work in the pipelining field. He enjoyed gardening and taking care of the family’s livestock. He loved to play golf. Every day he kept himself busy with numerous projects, building, fixing, and creating things for the house or the yard.
Darrell is preceded in death by his father: Ernest Allen Sr. His grandparents: Eugene Allen Sr, Annie Allen, Mary N. Joe, and great grandfather Shorty Nez.
Darrell is survived by his parents: Darlene Joe and Frank Joe. His brothers: Ernest Allen Jr., Derrick Allen, Zachariah Joe, Dwayne Joe and his sister: Ernestine (Kyle) Joyner.
He was born to clans Hashtł’ishnii, Kinyaa’áanii, Mud clan, and Towering House Clan.
