Darrell James “Ducky” Long, 49, of Henry, formerly of LaSalle, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. Mr. Long was born March 15, 1963, in Spring Valley to William and Doris (Harmston) Long.
He married Lynda (Bennett) Barton on March 7, 2007, in Ottawa. Mr. Long was a handyman; the go-to man for anything needed. He loved people and was a very giving man, helping anyone in need. He was a very avid reader and enjoyed the outdoors.
Survivors include his best friend and wife, Lynda of Henry; one step-daughter, Shawndra (Gabe) Hubbard of LaSalle; two step-grandchildren, Damian and Destiny; one brother, Steven Long of LaSalle; three sisters, Sylvia Keeling of Oglesby, Peggy (Frank) Hazelton of Putnam and Anna (William) Casey of Streator; several nieces and nephews and a special great-niece, Mazi Hodges.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
