Darrell Davis, age 82 of Algona, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at his home. Darrell Eugene Davis, the son of Fred and Beulah (Campney) Davis, was born on March 25, 1938 in Algona, Iowa. He graduated from Burt High School in 1956. On November 2, 1958 Darrell was united in marriage with D. Marlene Johnson at the Burt Methodist Church in Burt. Darrell worked in the road construction business, was a farmer, worked for M&D Auto Repair in Burt and was employed with Ernie Williams for 34 years. Darrell retired in 2001. Darell & Marlene continued helping John Deere Friends for an additional 13 years at the Clay County Fair John Deere display. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. Darrell devoted a lot of effort to the church and restoration project. Darrell enjoyed fishing, especially in Canada with his family. He loved to bowl and watch NASCAR. Most of all, Darrell loved to spend time with his grandchildren and family. Darrell and Marlene enjoyed many years of travel and time in Arizona. Left to cherish Darrell’s memory are his wife of 62 years, Marlene of Algona; his children, Leonard (Len) Brenda Davis of Algona, Kimberly (Ron) Caldwell of Clinton, Scott (Paula) Davis of Lake Nebagamon, Wisconsin and Chris (Traci) Davis of Winterset; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren and brothers, LeRoy Davis of Cedar Falls and Garry (Ruth) Davis of Waverly. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Londa Davis and sister-in-law, Helen Davis, and parents in law Louise & Darrell McFarland.
