Mr. Darrell “Baba” Leath, 53, passed away on June 12, 2020 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC. His death was unexpected after being hit by a car several days earlier. Darrell was born on April 19, 1967 in Burlington, NC to Sharon Leath. His grandmother, Pauline Leath and his grandfather, Clyde Leath, helped to raise him.
Darrell had a love for music, and a passion for clothes and shoes. He loved to dress to impress. He was a free-spirited person, who loved to travel and explore.
He is survived by his oldest daughter, Keosha Foust Johnson (Matthew) of Raleigh, NC; daughter, Tearia “Ke-Ke” Leath of Burlington, NC; son, Dontae Leath of Burlington, NC; brother, Todd Leath of Raleigh, NC; and sister, Tonya Michelle Leath of Charlotte, NC. He leaves behind three grandchildren; Matthew Johnson, Jr. “MJ”; Knowledge Pratt; and Janiya Pratt, all of Burlington, NC. His uncle, Clyde Leath, Jr. of Burlington, NC; and his aunt, June Leath Shoffner of Burlington, also survive him. Darrell had one niece, Joslyn Mims of Fayetteville, NC and two nephews, Juwann Leath and Na-Mel Collins, both of Burlington, NC. He also had of host of family and friends who will miss him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Leath; and his grandparents, Pauline and Clyde Leath.
