Darrel Hixenbaugh, 87, of Terra Alta, WV, died on Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown.
Darrel was born April 2, 1930, in (Salt Lick) Terra Alta, WV, a son of the late Clarence William and Mildred Katherine (Goff) Hixenbaugh.
Darrel retired in 1988 from Greenbrier Aggregate in Manheim. He enjoyed visiting with people, telling stories, watching wrestling and playing the guitar with his brother Frank.
He is survived by three sons and spouses, David and Terri Hixenbaugh of St. Clair, MO, Dwayne Hixenbaugh of Terra Alta, Daniel Hixenbaugh of Baltimore, MD; four daughters and spouse, Donna Teresa Hixenbaugh of Lebanon, OR, Debra Hixenbaugh of Morgantown, DeeAnne Kephart and Paul Juker of Shinnston, Dareena Hixenbaugh of Morgantown; six grandchildren, Derek Parsons, Dwayne Hixenbaugh Jr., Kristen Brown, Jeremy Hixenbaugh, Jeanette Hixenbaugh and Joshua Hixenbaugh; eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris J. (Buckingham) Hixenbaugh in 1975; one daughter, Denise Francine Parsons, three brothers, Frank, Harold and John; four sisters, Lucy Dillsworth, Pearl Dillsworth, Bertha Huffman and 1 infant sister; and one grandson, Bradley Hixenbaugh.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel; 295 South Price Street, on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, from 4-8pm; on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, from 10:00 a.m.
