Darrel “Dusty” Calvin Rhodes, 88 of Tunnelton left this world and ascended into the Heavens to be with the Lord and those loved ones who have since past on Saturday, July 5, 2014. Dusty was born January 18, 19 26 in Tunnelton, son of the late Stanley Rhodes and Kate Catherine Pratt Garrett. He was a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather as well as a friend to many. Dusty served in the US Army during World War II, made a living as a truck driver for 44 years and also a heavy equipment operator retiring from (Hillside Trucking-Paul Garbert), earning the CB Handle “Buzzin Cousin” and was active in the Community and his Church (Howesville United Methodist Church) for many years where he was a Trustee and very active in all aspects. He was a founding member of “The Gospel Tones”, a Christian gospel group, where he drove the van and set up equipment. He was also a member of the VFW Post #2345, and Tunnelton Senior Citizens Center. Dusty loved life, collecting antiques, coins, and avid collector of everything. He loved animals, horses, going to yard sales, and after 44 years of driving truck he retired to work with his tractor on his farm, travel in the motor home, camping and being outdoors. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him but comfort will be found knowing he is at peace. Dusty may be gone but will never be forgotten as he will live in our hearts forever.
