Darlene Wynona Plumb, 81 of Nampa, passed away peacefully May 22, 2016 surrounded by family. She was born on June 25th, 1934 in Alma, Nebraska to Frank and May (Lambson) Gipe. Darlene was the 3rd born of 11 children. She attended & graduated from Alma High school & loved twirling her baton as a Drum Majorette. Throughout her life she lived in various states including Nebraska, Idaho & Nevada. Darlene married Junior Glynn Plumb on June 25th, 1954. They resided in Marsing, Idaho, for a number of years and then moved to Winnemucca, Nevada, for quite some time. She eventually moved back to Idaho due to health issues.
Darlene was a member of the Nampa Valley Grange #131 for over 25 years and loved being involved in everything they did and the people she associated with there. She received several awards while there. She loved raising chickens and cows and enjoyed meeting people while she worked at various jobs, such as hotel receptionist, and running her own bar, store & café. Darlene also went to school to learn bookkeeping and taxes. She loved seeing all of her children, grandchildren, and family. Throughout her lifetime, she and her sister, Juanita, were inseparable.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & May Gipe; her brothers, Billy A. Gipe and Bobby C. Gipe; her sister, Marion Boston; the father of her children, Junior Plumb; and 2 great-grandchildren, Kody Honey and Amanda Turner.
Darlene is survived by her siblings, Juanita Hodge, J. Reuben (Bud) Gipe, Leila Gohn, Frank Benny C. Gipe, Judy Halcom, & Dora Gordon; her children, Anthony R. (Linda) Gipe Sr., Joyce G. (Rick) Parry, Cyndee R. (Paul) Rodriguez, Ray D. (Peggy) Plumb, Timothy J. (Patty) Plumb, Denise L. (Larry) Henderson, and Daniel G. (Janet) Plumb; 25 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
