Darlene Pendill, age 72, of Evergreen Village in Bloomington, Indiana passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022, after a life-long battle of health issues.
Our mom was an anchor in our family. She was a constant source of encouragement to all of those around her. Her strength, courage, and faith never wavered though her battles were long and hard. Her strength amazed everyone she met. There was never an obstacle in front of her she would not strive to overcome. She would often say that God does not give us more than we can handle and would add “this too shall pass.” Her faith and courage live strong in our family. It is the greatest gift she left us.
She cherished every minute she had with her family. She delighted in cooking great meals and was a fabulous cook. She always made enough food to feed an army. With five children and eleven grandchildren, she did have her own small army!
Our mom had a servant’s heart. She spent her final years creating crafts and inspirational art for the residents of Evergreen Village. She expressed hope and love in art and made a difference to all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Harold Julian, Jr., mother, Lois Julian, brother, Danny Julian, brother, Donald Julian, and grandson, Brody Pendill. She is survived by her sister, Debby Steele and her five children, Dustin Pendill (Melissa), Heather Pendill Weatherbee, Nicole Weigl, Nathan (Rebekah) Pendill, B.J. (Kristina) Pendill and eleven grandchildren.
