Darlene “Doll” Olivia Monroe, age 69, of Walker, Minnesota went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 6th, 2022, from her home. She was born in Cass Lake, MN on November 7th, 1952, the daughter of Isabelle (Aitken) and John Monroe.
Doll was a caring loving woman who left us to join her loved ones who have already crossed over to the spirit world. Grandma Doll was a strong and independent woman who loved her family very much. She was a very kind person whose love was one of a kind. Doll was always caring for others and most definitely stood up for her family. She had a sweet tooth for almost everything.
Her sister Evie and her were two peas in a pod; where you saw one of them the other wasn’t far behind. Her special friend, Vanessa Goose, and her exchanged food recipes and Vanessa was always there for her. She loved just sitting outside watching the beautiful days, writing Facebook status’, going to the casino, playing bingo, having her family over for dinner and spending time with her great grand babies. Darlene loved her three children sooo much and always did everything she could for them, no matter what. She was the best mom and grandma anyone could ask for, always pushing and encouraging her children and grand babies to be the best they could be. She’ll be sadly missed by her loved ones and friends.
Family that she is reunited with are her daughters, Melissa and Christina “Chris” Johnson; parents, Isabelle and John Monroe; sisters, Bernice New, Adeline and Tonya Monroe; brothers, Harold, Clyde and Calvin Monroe; nephew, Sonnie Ringley and many more family members.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Lawrence “Larry” Johnson, Jr. of Walker; daughter, Jalyssa (Bernabe) LeQuire of Walker; sisters, Evelyn “Evie” Monroe of Walker and Elaine (Sam) Saccomen of Bemidji; special sister, Glendora Ellis of Walker; brothers, Ed Monroe of Bemidji and Roger Monroe of Remer; grandchildren, Delbert (Sarah) Rushman, Jr., Jazlyn Jones, Jordan Johnson, Taylor Johnson, Lydia Johnson, Raven Emery, Zoe Emery, Baby Larry Johnson III and Latrell LaPointe; great grandbabies, Elysia Rushman, William Jones-Cournoyer, Melody LeQuire and Josiya Johnson; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
