Mrs. Darlene “Nanny” Dawson Weaver Koontz, age 74, of Bridgeport, WV passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014 at UHC in Bridgeport.
Mrs. Koontz was born on February 20, 1940 in Clarksburg a daughter to the late Dexter and Leah Jane Skidmore Dawson. She was a homemaker who loved to bird watch and was considered to be an all around pet lover. She also loved shopping and camping where she would go to her place at Big Bear. Family was the key to her life and she will be missed by all those who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Terry “Pappy” Koontz, of the home whom she married on April 19, 1984; 3 sons and daughter-in-laws, Rod and Cindy Weaver, Brad and Betty Weaver, Chad and Andrea Weaver; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Greg Hoffman; grandchildren, Josh Weaver, Frankie Oliverio, Jamie Jo, Rodney Weaver, Jr., Christopher Weaver, Kari Bailey, Emily Weaver, Bethany Stuckey, Lauren Brewer, Gillian Weaver, Kamryn Weaver, Gracie Weaver, and Brendan Hoffman; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Junior Dawson, Dwayne Dawson, and Dennis Dawson; special niece and nephew, Starrla and Greg Simmons, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to Darlene’s parents she was preceded in death by a son, William G. “Billy” Weaver, granddaughter, Mindy Weaver, brother, Daryl Dawson, and sister Delores Pappas.
