Darlene was born in Deer Park on November 18, 1927 to Michael and Viola (Siebert) Safranski. She married Eugene Gallegos on December 9, 1972. She enjoyed crocheting and her crafts.
Mrs. Gallegos is survived by her husband Eugene, two daughters, Cheryl Escalente of Pueblo,CO and Tina Haun-Swiskoski of La Salle; one son, Charles Spears of Phoenix,AZ; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaugher. She was preceded in death by one son Burt Dwayne Spears, two daughters, Karen Landmessfer and Tere Rutledge, two sisters, Marge Spicer and Bernice Gorisek, four brothers, Joseph, Robert, Raymond and Charles Safranski.
