Darlene Ann Meek, 73, of Madrid, IA passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at the Boone County Hospital in Boone, IA. Darlene was born March 22, 1948, in Mountain Lake, MN, daughter of Gerald David and Dorothy Kathryn (Meyer) Hall.
She received her education in Madrid where she graduated in 1966.
Darlene made her home in Madrid most of her life. She did clerical work for Larson Insurance Agency retiring in 2010.
Darlene enjoyed bowling, playing cards, going to bingo, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She was active with the Madrid Post 5060 Ladies Auxiliary as their treasurer. She helped on the Labor Day committee for several years. She was the treasurer for Cub Scout Pack 150 for 3 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth in 1984, brothers Larry and Richard, daughter Susan Meek, and a nephew Mike Hall.
Darlene is survived by her children; Kelly (Nicole) Meek of Madrid, Kasi Meek of Ames, Kenneth Meek Jr. (Christina) of Booneville, MO and Vicky Meek of Bethany, MO. 8 grandchildren (Tyler, Big Nolan, Trent, Quentin, Athena, Mason, Isaac, and Little Nolan) and one great-grandchild (Freya).
