On October 11, 1956, Darlene Agnes O’Brien was born to Charles & Lula May O’Brien in Baltimore, Maryland. She was adored by her older brother, Charles. Darlene was a Marylander through and through, very much enjoying crabs and the Ravens and Orioles. Her favorite pastime was playing bingo and going on adventures with her kids and grandkids. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, especially to those she unofficially adopted. She is often referred to as “the mother she didn’t have to be.” She loved dancing and the band, Alabama.
Darlene is survived by her beloved husband, Russell “Lee” Walters Jr., and her brother Charles O’Brien. She is also survived by her daughters, Valerie, Kelly, and Misti. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kala. She was proudest of her title as Gramma and Gommy to Kristina, Chelsey, Dakota, Jason, Chase, & Aiden, as well as her great-grandchildren Joseph, Gunnar, and Kaydence.
