Danny R. Clevenger, 83, of Lafayette, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022.

He was born June 15, 1938, in Champaign, IL, to the late Roy and Margaret Harnesberger Clevenger. Danny was a 1956 graduate of Waveland High School in Waveland, IN, and was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving from July 1956 to June 1960.  He then served from 1967 until 1988 (21 years) with the Indiana State Police, during which he was involved in the investigations of three major murder cases in Parke County, IN, that led to convictions in all three cases.  He retired as a Master Trooper/Investigator from the Terre Haute Post in 1988.  He continued serving the community for 7 years as the Director of Security at Oaks Mall in Gainesville, FL and ended his career as Director of Security at the Tippecanoe Mall in Lafayette.

Danny was a member of the Indiana State Police Alliance, Honda Goldwing Club, and Linden Conservation Gun Club.  He enjoyed watching NASCAR; especially his favorite driver, Mark Martin.  He was also an avid dog lover.

He is survived by his children, Denise Clevenger and Brian (Holly) Clevenger, both of Largo, FL., and Chad (Mary) Clevenger of Lafayette; cousin, Philip Harnesberger of Lafayette; 9 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Margaret Lucille (Harnsberger) Clevenger; 2 brothers Jack Clevenger and Bruce Clevenger; and his sister, Connie Blacketer.
